What's New

A world first for Kirrihill?

30 April 2008
Following a tip off from Rob Geddes MW at our PR company WineStream www.winestream.com.au we were contacted by Hugo Sharp from Project Vino www.projectvino.com.au to see if we were interested in supplying wines for the world's first Twitter wine tasting. What a great idea we thought - we're just a small South Australian brand and any way in which we can engage with our consumers in a different, more direct and personal manner gets our vote!

Twelve prominent Australian Twitter users took part in a new twist on the the traditional wine tasting format. What made this wine tasting unique was that the participants could have been anywhere in the world. All were connected in real-time by the latest and greatest online communication tool - Twitter www.twitter.com

Three of our Companions wines (Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz Viognier and Tempranillo Garnacha) were tasted on the night. Each one was introduced by the MC of the tasting (Hugo Sharp from Project Vino) and then discussed on Twitter. Although separated by distance, the event was highly engaging and personal. As with most, Twitter discussions, the conversation spread to other online mediums such as blogs, podcasts and video.

Our aim was to get the conversation flowing and flow it did! Take a look:

A big thank you to Rob, Hugo and all the Twitter users who took part - we hope you didn't feel too rough the morning after!

Cheers

The Kirrihill Team
